Losing weight (embracing the new you)

Losing weight

Hi everyone! this is first blog ever..so bear with me :) The topic that i chose is something that is closest to my  heart and m sure its the closest to millions of other hearts out there as well. Losing weight is not just losing weight its a journey..so lets begin!



Now as far as i remember i was fat since i was a lil kid and i always thought to myself...losin weight..BAH!!! that has to be easiest thing on this planet..i mean seriously all you gotta do is pump some iron..eat healthy and there you have it ..you'll lose weight in a jiff!


Well when i actually started to do it...thats when i realized "Oh my god!! what i have gotten myself into?? This is tougher than all the algebra theories put together or any of the science codes ever cracked!"

So now i am 22 yrs old and actually starting my weight loss journey from this day oct 27,2014...and i wanna take each step with everyone out there whose trying to lose weight....to make this blog a lil more spicy via pictures and points m going to show what i conisder the DO'S AND DON'TS of losing weight..coz this is helps me out maybe this will help you out as well.

DONT'S


1.)THE IMAGE

 
Are you tired of being fat? Well then XYZ workout is the workout for you!! Get a body like this in just 4 WEEKS!!! 
we've all been bombarded with ads like these..but now i really don't buy these ads coz they all show already ultra fit people telling us how to lose weight! 
Really? thats just like a rich man saying what it feels like to be poor :P
Don't buy these ads and do not relate yourself to them either!


2.)EXTREME DIETING


This is a flaw we're all guilty of ..when we begin weight loss ,,,there is just so much energy in us ..we consider ourselves Alexander the great..we begin to eat everything that is green,leafy and red..and we're able to do this for atleast one or 2 days but oops i forgot something (it tastes so bad!!!)

Unfortunately our body and mind is not used to this type of food so we hop onto our old food again ...then there is the guilt trip and we end end up eating double than before :(


3.)OVER WORKOUT

I need to fit into this dress for the prom that is coming up! Omg my bday is on the way...i can't look like this ...i need to lose weight!

Yes most of us go into our HE-MAN mode where we believe ..that quantity is more important...the more workout we do...the more we'll loose..simple! isn't it?

NEXT DAY

Mom:Honey aren't you gonna go to the gym today?

Me: No mom my legs are aching!!...my jaw hurts :(

1 month later

Mom : Sweety..you really ought to go back to the gym now!

Me: I'm still recovering mom!!!

You get the picture!...DON'T OVERWORKOUT! :D


DO'S

1.)THE STARTING

The starting point or the intial starting in weight loss is probably the toughest thing...because you are about to start a new way of life...and we're always scared of changes its human nature!

What if don't lose as much as i wanto? what if i end up fallin sick during this process?Eliminate the what ifs that rise out of anxiety! Move ahead with these what ifs!!!

When a lil baby crawls...he never thinks what if i'm not able to walk?...One day he walks!..when he walks he never thinks..what if i'm not able to run? One day he Runs..and then it becomes a part of his life!

So like a lil baby belive that one day you will walk..you will run..ypu will lose weight and then it will become a part of your life!

2.)Eating habbits


HA HA yes dieting is not what i would like to call it...its about changing your eating habbits.

We're used to eating all that yummy tummy food..but unfortunately..no pain no gain my dear..yes we need to bring a change in our food.

But don't go overboard...take one step at a time!...Dieticians usually recommend a change in your entire diet n its hard to follow up on that...here's the trick that i use!

2 weeks, or 1 week

healthy breakfast +same lunch+ same dinner
 For 2 weeks or 1 week (if you think 2 weeks is too long) only bring a change in your breakfast and keep the rest of the meals the same.

next 2 weeks

healthy breakfast+healthy lunch+same dinner

by this time your body will get ued to the new type of food..so you can easily introduce a new course of this food :)

next 2 weeks

healthy breakfast + healthy lunch +healthy dinner 

See! slowly n steadily you will conquer it and this new food will become a part of your life!

3.) Feel good workout


A feel good workout is more effective than a power workout!

it maybe a feel good 20 min morning walk.. dancing to your favourite song,.. a simple breathing yoga

anything that makes you feel happy from the inside will help you lose weight and build confidence within yourself.

Remember this is our crawling stage in workout ..increase workout slowly..coz quality is more important than quantity.

4.)TEMPATION AVOIDANCE


Even Adam and Eve couldn't avoid temptation ..we are still humans (i mean the later ones! :P) 
 
Giving in to temptation is part of our human nature .. and along the way of weight loss..manier will be the times when we will commit mistakes!..we will give into temptation....but that's the beauty of it all..accept it and move on!

Be thick skinned! don't feel guilty start over again...and again and again till you become perfect !

if man can reach the moon ..man can lose weight! i know it actually ought to be vice versa lol

So these are some of my tips on how weight loss cannot be such a hard thing and can be done after all...hope these help!
